As a young girl growing up in the hills of Eastern Kentucky, right down the road from Chris Stapleton & Loretta Lynn, Melissa never imagined that her love of performing and writing music would one day take her to Hollywood.
In 2009, Melissa moved to L.A. to pursue her lifelong dream of getting her music heard around the world. Within two years, she got signed to a label and released her first EP. That EP was submitted in 6 categories for the 56th Grammys including: Record of the Year, Album of the Year, Song of the Year (for "Don't Give Up"), Best New Artist, Best Pop Solo Performance, Best Engineered Album Non-Classical.
Over the course of her career she has shared the stage with country music legends (George Jones) and rock stars (Slash). Some of the country's most sought after musicians have played on her original songs including Tim Pierce (Michael Jackson, Stevie Nicks, Celine Dion, Kelly Clarkson) & Paul Bushnell (Tim McGraw, Faith Hill, The Weeknd, Sugarland). Her songs have been in Emmy Award-Winning web series and Grammy nominated artists have covered her penned tunes.
Melissa Collins is a Texas-based singer/songwriter and one half of the songwriting powerhouse, MCSVG. Along with her bandmate, Savannah Gates, the duo has written numerous songs for healing, as well as for film and television.
